Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Brandon served with the Virginia College Advising Corps (VCAC) for two years; VCAC is an AmeriCorps program focused on assisting low-income, minoritized, and first-generation high school students desiring to matriculate to 2- and 4-year institutions of higher education. Brandon worked primarily with high school juniors and seniors to assist them with major and career exploration, college match and fit, FAFSA completion, and other aspects associated with college matriculation.
Brandon completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology: Developmental Psychology, with a minor in Spanish from Liberty University. He is currently in his second and final year of the Master of Arts Education (MAEd) in Higher Education and Student Affairs here at Virginia Tech, with a graduate certificate in Inclusion and Diversity.
Brandon enjoys working with living-learning programs because of the interdisciplinary educational opportunities they provide students outside of the classroom. He understands the importance of learning from different people, cultures, and areas of knowledge as it is needed for true change to occur in the society. Therefore, his favorite Aspiration of Learning is the Commit to Unwavering Curiosity.
