Kayley Carter

Program Coordinator, Creativity and Innovation District

Kayley is a Program Coordinator for the Creativity and Innovation District LLP. In her role she provides leadership for the CID LLP community, working in partnership with the Faculty Principal and three Living Learning Community Directors. She advises Student Leaders and the CID Hall Council, facilitates weekly programming, and focuses on student engagement.

Kayley earned a BS in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston and an M.Ed. in Higher Education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Before this role, she was completing her Master’s degree and working as a Residential Community Director for Upper Division Housing at SMU.

Kayley appreciates Living Learning Programs for the opportunities for growth and community that they provide for students. She believes that LLPs are a great way for students to get (and stay) involved throughout their college years while experiencing increased sense of belonging and whole person development.

Her favorite Aspiration for Student Learning is Pursue Self-Understanding and Integrity. She says “We are always growing, developing, and learning, and the pursuit of figuring out who we are is vital as we navigate the world around us. By constantly checking in on and staying true to ourselves, we can pursue a life that allows us to combine who we are with who we want to be.”
