Request for Living-Learning Program Proposals

Dear Colleagues,

Student Affairs and the Office of Living-Learning Programs invites you to submit a Living- Learning Program (LLP) proposal for communities that will launch in Fall Semester 2025! To ensure enough time to launch high quality programs, we are requesting proposals by November 6, 2023.

LLPs are intentional communities at Virginia Tech where students make powerful connections between their academic and residential environments. Through academic partnerships, LLPs allow students to find individuals with similar interests and create a place they call home. These smaller communities help students create personal, professional, and academic networks, which support their success. In LLPs, students integrate their intellectual life with where they live, who they live with, and how they make meaning of their university experience. By providing more opportunities and resources, our LLPs create conditions to help students thrive on campus!

LLPs are a terrific way to enact innovative pedagogy and create an environment that helps students make the most of their experience at Virginia Tech. To learn more, please attend one of our information sessions indicated below. There you will receive more information about LLPs, creating a proposal, and coaching resources available throughout the process.

Please reach out to Dr. Jamie Penven, Director of Living- Learning Programs, at jpenven@vt.edu or 540-231-7938 for more information.
